Mark Hyman, a partner and Co-Founder of The River Group has 20 years of corporate human resources management and executive search experience. Mark’s responsibilities at The River Group range from conducting retained and contingency search assignments for our clients to managing operations and business development for the company. Prior to The River Group, Mark founded The Mark Hyman Group, Inc., a boutique executive search firm in Atlanta, GA. Prior to opening TMHG, he spent many successful years as a Division VP for a top Atlanta contingency search firm. Mark’s functional knowledge spans the corporate structure, with particular expertise in organizational change, training, human resources and sales and marketing. Mark continues to recruit for select accounts in Telecommunications and the Test & Measurement Industry.
Al Templeton is a partner and Co-Founder of the River Group. He began his career as a Project Manager for National Development Corporation, a North Carolina land development firm. Joining an Atlanta based Executive Search Firm in 1996, Al headed a Business Unit specializing in the recruitment of Civil Engineers. His experience led him to co-found The River Group, Inc. Al specializes in recruiting, operations, research, project management, staff training and business development.He has assisted in the merger and acquisitions of diverse companies. Al has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina, Wilmington, NC. He also holds a Real Estate Broker’s License and is a Certified Real Estate Instructor.

Kathy Hyman is the Lead Researcher and Recruiting Coordinator at The River Group . Kathy is an expert in the areas of talent sourcing, industry research, social media strategy and applicant tracking systems. She has been a key contributor to the development of the back office support systems at The River Group as well as Savannah Staffing. Before joining The River Group, Kathy had a very successful sales career that eventually lead to positions in general management for Club Corp and Hair Club.
John Spindler is a Senior Recruiter with The River Group. He specializes in recruiting individuals for key positions in Manufacturing, Sales and Marketing, as well as Management, Engineering and Accounting & Finance for Clients within Chemical related industries. John holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and began his professional career with a Big 4 Public Accounting firm. During his career, he has served in executive positions in industry, public & private accounting and financial and business management. Prior to joining The River Group, John was able to fulfill a “lifetime dream” as the Project General Manager for a world class private golf course working with Tom Fazio and designing and constructing the adjoining Private Residential Community.
Ron Thompson is an Executive Recruiter with The River Group’s Chemical Practice. His career includes major account sales for a number of Fortune 500 corporations. Ron was also the Vice President of Sales for a national management consulting firm. At The River Group, Ron specializes in placing individuals within the Specialty Chemical and Agricultural Chemical Industries, His areas of focus include sales, engineering, accounting, marketing, and facility or plant management positions. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising from Marshall University.
Joel Coltrane is an Executive Recruiter with The River Group. His experience includes a successful sales, sales management background in advertising sales. Joel brings an overall business background and ability to build a brand, market share and understand client business needs in filling key positions. He fills Management, Engineering, Operations and Chemist positions within the Chemical Industry. Joel holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill.
Laura Wilson joined The River Group Inc., after years in Workforce Development as a Career Advisor in addition to a background in Journalism. She is a switch hitter specializing within the Chemical/Plastics and Packaging industry as well as the Food & Beverage Manufacturing industry. She brings great listening and investigative skills to the table as she meets the staffing requirements of our clients. Laura fills Management, Engineering, Sales, Operations and Chemist positions within the Chemical & Plastics Industries. Writing is one of Laura’s passions. She is the Chapter Leader for SCWW (South Carolina Writers Workshop), writes for magazines in the Savannah/Hilton Head area and has authored her first book, Red Tail. She holds a Bachelors Degree in English from Lincoln University
Jim Wyrick joined The River Group Inc., after 20 years in sales and product marketing. During his career Jim was was focused on promoting a wide range of plastics joining, injection molding (and auxiliaries), 6-axis robotics, and thermoforming equipment into the Automotive, Medical, Aerospace, BCE, Textile, White Good, and Toy Industries. Jim worked with industrial brand names, such as: Branson, Van DorDemag, Wittman, Kuka, and Dieffenbacher. He had the opportunity to live and work abroad in Germany and Spain and is fluent in both German and Spanish. Jim attended the University of Vermont, where he received a BS – Engineering Chemistry. He also pursued foreign language studies at Middlebury College, Schiller University, and Malaca.
